Basseterre, St.Kitts (TUCOM-February 18th 2015):-The sidewalks outside of Government House was packed on Wednesday afternoon as hundreds of supporters thronged to witness Prime Minister, Hon. Dr.Timothy Harris , take the oaths of office, allegiance and secrecy, during a ceremony officiated by Governor General Sir Edmund Wickham Lawrence.
Dr. Timothy Harris who campaigned on giving the country of St.Kitts-Nevis a FRESH START was sworn in as the 3rd Prime Minister of the twin island federation two days after leading the historic Alliance Team UNITY to a victory at the February 16th polls.
The Team UNITY Alliance won 7 of 11 seats in a near landslide over the SKN Labour Party and Nevis Reformation Party coalition led by Dr. Denzil Douglas . Douglas was seeking an unprecedented 5th consecutive , five-year term.
Dr. Harris was sworn in at 5pm along with new Attorney General Vincent Byron Jr.
