Macmillan Education to offer free certified training for language teachers in the Caribbean next week

Macmillan Education Caribbean has announced a new set of language webinars running as part of their ‘Language Lab’ series next week.

The webinar series comprises three days of Language Arts and English webinars, which will run from Tuesday 23rd of May to Thursday 25th of May.

Language experts Gill Budgell, Julia Sander and Leonie Bennett will explore how teachers can get the most out of Macmillan Education’s existing and new titles to help Language Arts and English students develop integral literacy skills and earn valuable certification for each.

In the three sessions, some of Macmillan Education’s key literacy titles, Snappy Sounds, English Matters and Language Tree, will be used to demonstrate literacy skills.

The Language Arts and English titles covered are available from pre-primary through to secondary level.

It comes after Macmillan Education’s synthetic phonics programme, Snappy Sounds, was validated by the UK’s Department for Education at the start of the year.

The programme is currently being trialled by schools in Barbados.

Attendees can find out more about the programme in the first session of the webinar series.

The second session of Language Lab will focus on the third edition of Language Tree, a primary Language Arts title widely used in the Caribbean. Authors Julia Sander and Leonie Bennett will explore how to use the title to help students develop critical thinking and writing skills.

Attendees of the final session of the Language Lab series can expect to see the author of English Matters, Julia Sander, discuss how to get the most out of the new edition of the title, which was published last year.

Attendees of Language Lab will receive a certificate of attendance for each webinar attended, as well as an additional certificate for attending all three sessions.

The sessions will be available on-demand in the following weeks on Macmillan Education Caribbean’s channels.

Teachers from all levels across the Caribbean are invited to REGISTER HEREhttps://macmillan-caribbean.com/blogs/news/sign-up-to-our-language-lab-webinar-series-in-may ahead of the program, which begins on May 23.
