MELISSA SEABROOKES WINS MOTHERS’ DAY CAKE

Charlestown –Nevis-Melissa Seabrookes, Guest Services Coordinator, at the prestigious Four Seasons Resort on Nevis, got a surprise call on Friday 6th May from Vanessa Tavares of the Single parents’ group on Nevis.

To her surprise, Vanessa revealed to her that she was indeed the lucky winner of a magnificent looking fruit cake that was being raffled by the single parents’ group as part of its fund raising endeavours.

An elated Melissa was engaged in a very important meeting but co-worker, Glendon Fordyce, gladly accepted the fruit cake on her behalf.

The draw took place at the War Memorial square in Charlestown at about 10 am on that day, under the direct supervision of Mrs. Grace Manners, Coordinator of the single parents’ support group.

Group member, Mrs. Rhonda Williams gave an update of the workings of the single parents’ support group.

She noted that the group assist by giving scholarships to children of single parents; assist single parents in many ways and contribute to community groups and organizations.

She pleaded with community members to continue to give to the group as they continue in their efforts to help others.

Other members of the group present were, Miss Lydia Lawrence and Miss Gloria Pemberton.
