Nevis Ahead In Under 17 Trials

The Nevis under 17 Cricket team has so far gotten the better of their Kittitian counterparts in the first two matches in what effectively will serve as trial matches towards the eventual selection of the Leeward Islands under 17 team.

The matches are being played in zones with Antigua engaging Montserrat and Anguilla taking on St.Maarten.
At the end of the series of matches, a Leeward Islands Squad will be selected and placed into training.

The Nevis team journeyed to St.Kitts last weekend and played two matches and the St.Kitts team will return the courtesy this weekend as they will play the Nevis team in two more matches this coming Saturday and Sunday at the ET Willet Park.

Here is a summary of the two matches played so far:

Game one: Nevis 205 for 9 in 40 overs: Ravindra Balgobin 54; Javani Tyson 27; Jamie Cornelius 23; N’cosie George 20; T. Warden 15

St. Kitts 181 for 6 in 40 overs: C. Pennyfeather 101; J. Clarke 38; X. Saunders 16
Javani Tyson 3 for 40; T. Prentice 1 for 40 and Jamie Cornelius 1 for 12
Nevis won by 21 runs

Game two: St.Kitts 171 all out in 44 overs: J. Louis 47; C. Pennyfeather 25
Tiwan Prentice 3 for 34; Philo Wallace 2 for 16 and Jamie Cornelius 2 for 49
Nevis 172 for 8 in 35.2 overs: Shelton Forbes 50; Javani Tyson 38; Captain Ross Powell 13
J. Louis 3 for 30; D. Fungafat 2 for 20; while C. Pennyfeather and T. Francis both got 1 for 29
Nevis won by 2 wickets

The general public is invited out to the ET Willet Park this weekend to witness the final two games
