Nevis Primary Schools Receive Football Kits

The Primary schools on Nevis were the recipients of Football gear on Wednesday 11th November.
In a brief presentation ceremony which was chaired by Coordinator of the Sports Department on Nevis, Jamir Claxton, The Technical Director of the St.Kitts-Nevis Football Association, Mr. Lenny Lake, handed over the gear to the various coaches of the Primary Schools on the island.
In making the presentation, Mr. Lake indicated that the equipment was provided through the kind courtesies of the governing body of Football, FIFA, which is interested in seeing the game develop worldwide and is intent on getting as many children as possible playing the game.
He admonished the Primary school Footballers present to encourage their classmates and friends to get involved in playing the game of Football.
‘The more persons who are actively involved in playing the game, the more FIFA would give,’ he stated.
He also indicated that the donations should become an annual feature of the schools’ calendar and if the numbers of persons playing Football increase significantly, boots for the players may even be included.
He then handed out the Football kits with the assistance of Dexter Tyrell who is a member of the SKNFA executive.
The kits comprised of various sizes and types of Footballs; bibs; a catalogue of scientifically proven exercises; a DVD on techniques and rules of the game and a book on various topics such as training, health etc.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Adelvin Phillip, Coach at the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School.
