(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- On Wednesday, May 8, 2013 members of the Odisi Band journeyed to Wichita Falls, Texas for a long awaited, highly anticipated performance at the Midwestern State University’s Caribbean Students Organization’s annual May Show.

This event took place on Friday May 10, 2013 and without a doubt the Odisi Band from the village of Brick Kiln, ‘represented’ for Nevisians.

Nevispages understands that this was the first time any musical act out of St. Kitts and Nevis had performed for that event, and as a result much was expected from the Odisi Band.

On the night of the event a huge crowd came out with rags, flags and party spirit packing the venue to capacity.

The event got even ‘wilder’ when the band played its hit song ‘No one style’. Ladies rushed to the front of the stage displaying how they could ‘change positions’. Fans were not disappointed as the band is popularly known for showing its energetic skills and hyped performance to that tune.

At the end of the performance the patrons screamed for more but sadly the song brought the function to its crashing climax.

Speaking with band’s leader Kenny ‘Eazi’ Warner, he stated that he was very much surprised at the overwhelming crowd response and the fan base that the band received at the Midwestern State University. According to him the crowd was absolutely pleased with the performance. He also stated that the Midwestern gig has opened doors for the band in terms of getting its name out to the International World and giving a good taste of what Odisi Band out of Nevis has to offer musically.

In closing he expressed heartfelt thanks to Mr. Dwayne Rawlins and the MSU CSO alumni as well as the CSO Supernova Band and all who played a part in making the trip possible.

When asked what’s next for Odisi Band he stated ‘Winfes on Whit Weekend and the band is gearing up for Culturama 2013’.

The band is currently working on its 2013 album from which two tracks were released last week, ‘In D Saddle’ and ‘West Indian Queen’.

Warner is proud of the direction the band is going. He boastfully stated that the band has a few more foreign gigs booked already. In conclusion he exclaimed heartily, ‘Odisi 2 D World!!!!”
