Oualie Masonry Products Limited donates sizeable cheque to the Winfes Committee

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- Oualie Masonry Products (OMP) Limited, a redi-mix concrete company in Nevis has made a significant sponsorship donation to the Winfes 2014 Community Festival.

This donation was revealed during a brief Press Conference held on Monday, May 26, 2014 at the Rudolph Hardtman Building, Happy Hill Drive, Charlestown.

A representative of OMP, Mr. Vaughn Walters handed over a sizeable cheque in the amount of $15,000.00 E.C to Chairman of Winfes Committee, Mr. Pearlivan Wilkin.

While presenting the cheque, Mr. Walters stated that he hopes that the sum of money will go a long way in assisting the ‘Winfes turns 8 Committee’ to meet its goals. Mr. Walters continued, “We at OMP are supportive in community development and we at OMP do give back to organizations that we think are making a positive impact to the community”.

Walters further stated that OMP is always willing to assist community groups and organizations. In closing Mr. Walters, wished the organizers of Winfes 2014 every success.

Mr. Pearlivan Wilkin, Chairperson of the Winfes Committee accepted the cheque on behalf of his committee. He stated that he was very pleased that OMP has been able to make such a generous donation at a time when the economy is bad. He highlighted that this was the second time in the history of Winfes, over the past 8 years that the committee has received a cheque of that magnitude. According to Wilkin, this huge donation speaks volume about the integrity of the company; and its willingness to assist groups in the Nevis community.

He assured the company that the cheque would go a very long way towards helping the community festival. He said this year the committee found it very difficult to source contributors to help the committee meet its goals.

Mr. Wilkin used the opportunity to highlight that every year; funds raised during Winfes are donated to some of the different community organizations here on Nevis.

In closing the chairman once again expressed gratitude to OMP and wished the company every success in its future endeavors.

Also present at the ceremony was Managing Director of OMP, Mr. Laughton Browne.
