The Ministry/Department of Sports wishes to express its growing concern regarding the unauthorised use of lighting at government sporting facilities after operating hours.
It has come to our attention that individuals have been switching on the lights at some facilities and leaving them on after they have departed. This practice results in unnecessary energy consumption, increased operational costs, and the waste of valuable public resources.
As we all strive to promote responsible energy use and environmental sustainability, the Ministry is appealing to all users of our sporting facilities to play their part in conserving electricity and protecting these important community assets.
The lighting systems at all sporting facilities are for authorised use only and should not be switched on without prior approval. Where lights have been legitimately used for approved activities, they should be turned
