Six murders committed in March this year

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 3, 2018 – More murders were committed in March this year than in previous three years.
According to available statistics, there were six murders in March 2018, compared to four in March of 2017, four in March 2016 and two in March of 2015.

James Francis of St. Paul’s, St. Kitts was shot and killed on March 1, 2015 and Malcolm Dore of Westbourne Ghut, St. Kitts, was also shot and killed on March 14, 2015.

Javier Caines of Sandy Point, St. Kitts was murdered on March 5th 2016; Tyrique Duncan of Hermitage, St. Kitts on 10th March 2016; Mark Williams of Rawlins, Nevis on March 11, 2016 and Vincent Ferlance of Pinney’s, Nevis on March 15, 2016

The four murder victims in March 2017 were 54-year-old Ashton Christopher of Taylors Village, St. Kitts, who was stabbed to death on March 10th; 15-year-old Ashanafi Saddler stabbed to death at Janet Alley, St. Kitts, on March 25th; 23-year-old Rondell Chapman of Rawlins Village, Gingerland, Nevis, shot and killed on March 26th and Akeem ‘Ratty’ Bryan who was shot dead in Newton Ground, St. Kitts on March 28th.

The six recorded murders in March 2018 were Naomi Finch (19) and Jammyliah Finch (20) who were killed on a beach not far from their home in Keys on March 1st; Mikelton Tyson (26) of Phillips’ Village, shot multiple times at Phillips’ Housing Project, St. Kitts on March 1st; Glenville Francis (41) of Newton Ground shot and killed on March 16th; Calvin “Cally” Archibald shot dead at Crab Hill, Sandy Point, St. Kitts, on March 17th and Marlon James of Brown Hill, Nevis, whose body was partially burnt with several bullet wounds on March 31st 2018.

The Federation recorded 18 murders in 2012; 21 in 2013; 21 in 2014; 28 in 2015; 31 in 2016 and 23 in 2017.
