Spurs score big win, St. Thomas/Trinity United relegated,

Hobson Enterprise Garden Hotspurs signed off on their final match of the regular season of the National Bank Premier League on Sunday night with a 3-0 win at the Warner Park vs back to back defending champions Flow 4G Cayon Rockets. That victory does not guarantee a final four spot just yet for Spurs, as they now have to await the results in other matches.

However for Captain Rovan Wigley, the victory was a good one and necessary to make their case for a playoff bid. “A win on a whole is a lot for us because we still have to see what happen in the rest of the games but the effort we put through today and if we get into the final four then we know it’s a good thing to build from,” Wigley said.
For Cayon, the loss is a major dent in their quest for the final four, but with two matches remaining, there is still hope they will make it. Assistant Coach Tyrone Oloughlin is optimistic they can progress into the final four. “We did not stick to the game plan and Spurs came out strong,” he said. For the future matches, he said they would have to stay focus and stick to the game plan in order to come away with positive results.
Meanwhile, S.L. Horsfords St. Pauls made sure they were stepping closer to the final four with a 3-1 win over TGE Dieppe Bay Eagles in the first of Sunday’s double header.
