Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 18, 2018 – Leon “Shabba” Powell, a sergeant in the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force was murdered early Saturday morning in what appears to be a botched armed robbery.
Powell, the federation’s 18th murder victim, was reportedly attacked by two masked and armed men at a bar he owns in his home village of Newton Ground.
Sgt. Powell, who died on the spot was posted at the Stapleton Police Station.
He was a former security officer to former St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister and current Leader of the Opposition, the Right Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas.
