Swimming : Cameron-Blake Stars in Annual Peninsula Swim

On Saturday 27th November, the St. Kitts Yacht club held its 8th annual Peninsula swim, which covers a distance of 1.9 miles or 3 kilometers.

48 swimmers and 33 kayakers commenced the arduous journey at White House Bay and ended at Shipwreck, at South Friars Bay.

There were participants from St. Kitts and Nevis, including representation from Ross University’s swim club and St. Kitts and Nevis Special Olympics team.

Males and females competed in the following categories:
Under 18
18 to 40
40 and over

The first person to complete the swim was Miniam Cameron Blake, who did it in a time of 49 mins and 40 secs.

Males under 18-
3rd Hrishikesh Srinivasan–1hr 11 mins
2nd Troy Nisbett 1 hr 10 mins
1st Justin Williams -1hr 2 mins- placing in the top ten

Females under 18
Winner-Skyla Connor completed in a time of 1hr 23 mins

Special mention made of Robert Liddie in a time of 1hr 17 mins, for the special Olympics team
