TDC Home And Building Depot (Nevis) Partners with Eyes First to Offer Free Eye Screening Sessions

Participants of the Workshop in Panama.

Over fifty-five people, including staff from the TDC Home and Building Depot at Pinney’s Industrial Estate, have benefited from a free Eye Screening Session, held on Friday 24 April 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., as part of the retail store’s community outreach programme.

The in-store community wellness activity was conducted by a team of certified and trained professionals, which was open to individuals of all ages, who learned about the importance of early detection, proactive eye care, basic vision assessments, early detection checks for common eye conditions and professional guidance on maintaining optimal eye health.

Speaking of the importance of the event, Mr Colin Freeman, the TDC Home and Building Depot (Nevis) Store Manager, emphasised the company’s dedication to supporting initiatives that enhance the quality of life within the community.

“We are happy to collaborate with Eyes First to make eye care more accessible to the people of Nevis. This initiative is an extension of us beyond the walls of the store. Good vision is essential to everyday living, so we decided to give our patrons access to more than just goods, but also the services that promote and support healthier lifestyles,” noted Freeman.

Eyes First Office Manager, Ms. Sharleen Pariall, also added, “Together, we helped to reinforce the importance of routine eye examinations, as many eye conditions can be effectively managed when detected early. We were able to give the TDC’s Home and Building Depot’s loyal customers and the general public the opportunity to prioritize their eye health.”

This is the second time that this initiative has been organized. The first was in February on St. Kitts, as part of the branch’s annual Health and Wellness campaign, which was held under the promotional theme, “The Heart of Every Home”, with the sub theme, “Healthy Heart Happy Home.”
