The Government Supply Office robbed in broad daylight

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- Police Officers on Nevis are currently investigating a robbery that took place this morning Monday, July 07, 2014 just a few minutes before 12:00 noon.

This media house has learnt that at about 11:40 a.m. two masked gunmen entered the Government Supply Office which is situated at the Pinney’s Industrial Site through a side door and robbed the cashier at gunpoint of an undisclosed sum of money.

The bandits then fled the scene using another door, leaving the cashier traumatized. She was later transported to the Alexandra Hospital, along with the warehouse clerk. It was reported that one of the bandits was dressed in an over-all jumpsuit, while the other was said to be wearing a brown Dickies pants and a white shirt.

This incident comes approximately two weeks after the Bank of Nova Scotia heist. On Monday, June 23, 2014 four masked gunmen robbed the Bank of Nova Scotia, Charlestown and escaped with an undisclosed sum of money.

A number of persons were arrested for that bank robbery but have been released without being charged.
