Trinidad And Tobago And West Indies B SECURE WINS

The super 50 2018 edition, hosted by the West Indies Cricket Board, got on the way in Trinidad and Tobago on the evening of Wednesday 3rd October

At the Queens Park Oval, Trinidad and Tobago was in early trouble versus defending champions Windwards, as most of the top order batsmen failed.

However, Nicholas Pooran played a whirlwind innings and assisted by Sunil Narine, got the score to some respectability.

The Windwards however, struggled in similar fashion and only Kyle Mayers stood out, like the proverbial cheese standing alone.

Trinidad and Tobago won comfortably in the end.

Summarized scores: Trinidad and Tobago 220 for 8: Nicholas Pooran 89; Sunil Narine 35

Kyle Mayers 4 for 58

Meanwhile, at the Brian Lara stadium, West Indies B engaged Canada.

West Indies scored what looked like an unassailable 302 for 8, on the back of a classic century by skipper Marlon Samuels.

However, the Canadians rallied well, even under serious pressure towards the end, to get within striking distance but it was a case of too little, too late.

They lost by a mere 10 runs.
