Young male murdered at his job at Mount Lily

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- The small community of Spring Hill, Nevis is mourning the death of one of its fellow residents who was murdered early this morning, Tuesday, June 11, 2013.

Dead is 23 year old Denrick Hanley alias ‘Bluff’ of Spring Hill, Nevis.

This media house visited the crime scene and witnessed the body of the young male dressed in a brown shirt and cream trousers lying motionless next to the side of the road with his weed-whacker next to him.

Further information revealed that Hanley was gunned down sometime minutes to 8:00 a.m. while doing his duties by cutting the grass at the side of the road. It is alleged that he was shot in his head.

Many curious onlookers quickly gathered at the scene and watched police officers of various departments conduct their investigations. The mother of the deceased broke down in tears and was heard saying, ‘they killed my son dead like a dog’ as she was being comforted by a village friend.

Nevispages left the crime scene some minutes to 10:00 a.m. and the body remained on the ground as heavy rain poured down causing spectators to run for shelter.

Hanley’s death occurred 22 days after his neighboring village friend Jamal Isles of Fountain Village. Hanley was gunned down at his job site and Isles was gunned down in his home.

His death marks the sixth murder in Nevis.
