REPORT OF ARREST, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, April 13, 2016 (RSCNPF): Below is a report of Arrest and or Convictions from the records of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for period 11-12 April.

ARRESTS/BAILED:

Arrested: Dellon Parris of Stoney Grove Nevis, was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Larceny. The offence took place on February 29, 2016 at Farm’s Estate, Nevis. Bailed: He was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00 XCD and ordered to appear at The Charlestown Magistrate Court on Tuesday April 12, 2016 at 09:00 in the forenoon.

Arrested: Zoya Challenger of Bath Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Simple Larceny committed on April 02, 2016. Bailed: She was granted bail in the sum of $2500.00 XCD and ordered to appear at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on Tuesday, April 18 2016 at 09:00 hrs in the forenoon.

Arrested: Shamiah Newton of Stoney Grove was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Simple Larceny committed on April 02, 2016. Bailed: She was granted bail in the sum of $2500.00 XCD and ordered to appear at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on Tuesday April 18, 2016 at 09:00 hrs in the forenoon.

Bailed: Bail was granted for Kurt Kareem Hazel of St Johnston Village, St Kitts in the sum of $10,000.00. He was ordered to appear at the Charlestown Magistrate on April 19, 2016 at 09:00in the forenoon.

COURT CONVICTION:

In matters at the Charlestown High Court presided over by Her Honour Madame Justice Lorraine Williams, in the case D.P.P Vs. Dion Walters of Stoney Grove and Gavin Herbert of Bath Village who are jointly charged with the offences of Building Breaking and Larceny and Burglary committed on December 21, 2013, both accused pleaded Guilty for the offence of Building Breaking and Larceny and Not Guilty for Burglary. The Crown accepted the plea of Guilty and indicated that they would not pursue the charge of Burglary. The judge then ordered a Social inquiry and set a sentencing date April 27, 2016 at 09:00 am.

In matters at the Charlestown High Court presided over by Her Honour Madame Justice Lorraine Williams, in the case of D.P.P vs Delano Browne of Cotton Ground. After two (2) hours of deliberation the jury returned with a Hung Jury. There were divided on all counts 9-3. Two (2) counts of Armed Robbery and Two (2) counts of Assault with the Intent to Rob. He was discharged and will remain on bail until next Criminal Assizes.

In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court presided over by His Honour Mr. Benjamin Kishawn Ritchen of Sanddown Road Newtown was found guilty for Possession of Cocaine and was given a conditional discharged for a period of twelve months. If he commits any offence during that period of twelve months he must be brought back to court for sentencing.

Demetris Martin of Conaree was found guilty for Possession of cannabis, Possession of Cocaine and Trafficking of Cocaine. The sentence handed down was Possession of Cannabis fined $500 to be paid in six weeks and in default serve two months in prison, Trafficking of Cocaine fined $600 to be paid in six weeks in default serve three months in prison.

In matters at the District “B” Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honour Ms. Donna Harris Samaria Bradshaw of Newton Ground who was charged with the offence of Battery on Police and Resisting Arrest was convicted and ordered to pay a fine of $500.00 ECC for Battery On Police to be paid by June 30, 2016 and fine of $700.00 ECC for the offence of Resisting Arrest to be paid on August 30, 2016 or if in default of any payments serve fourteen days in prison.

Dijon Mitcham of Bouryeaux Village who was charged with offence of Driving Without Insurance and Driving Without Licence was convicted and ordered to pay a fine of $300.00 ECC to be paid by June 30, 2016 for the offence of Driving Without Licence and $500.00 ECC to be paid by July 30, 2016 for the offence of Driving Without Insurance. If in default of any payment to serve fourteen days in prison.

OTHER ACTIVITY:

Burglary: Police is investigating a report of house breaking and larceny made at the Basseterre Police Station at about 4:45am on April 11, 2016. Investigations reveal that a resident located at Bird Rock stated they secured the house at about 11:30pm on April 10, and went to sleep. They were awoken by a noise at about 4:35am on April 11 and when they got up saw a male person leaving the living room through a glass sliding door, dressed in a white T-shirt and a short jean pant. |A check of the house was done and it discovered that one (1) Samsung Galaxy Top 4 Tablet value $600.00 USC was missing. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.

Larceny: Police is investigating a report of larceny at the St. Christopher’s Children’s Home. Investigations reveal that an unknown assailant broke into a storage container at the property and stole three (3) mountain Pedal Bikes, two (2) Ceiling fans valued at seventy (70) USD, two (2) 5 gallon Kits of paint, one (1)100 ft Garden Hose with its attachments, one(1) shovel, one (1) Pick Axe, two (2) metal Rakes, and one (1) Black Garbage bin were missing. The scene was processed by technicians from the Forensic Unit and the investigation continues.

Shop Breaking and Larceny: Police are investigating an incident of shop breaking and larceny that occurred in St. Pauls. A shop owner reports that he secured his shop/pool bar at about 4.30pm on April 11, and when he returned at about 7.00pm on the said date he discovered his shop broken into and $200.00ec and $50.00 U.S. Investigations is ongoing.

Traffic Accidents: Two traffic accidents occurred between 11-12 April. One in Palmetto Point St. Kitts and the other in Stoney Grove Nevis.

Police conducted over forty (40) Vehicular Check Points and or Stop and Searches and several searches of abandoned properties in the last two days. The check points and searches were done in efforts to ensure Citizen Safety, by removing any found Illegal Firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes.
