This past Saturday, NHCS proudly hosted the Bath Hotel Restoration Ceremony & Cocktail, celebrating the revival of one of the Caribbean’s most extraordinary historic landmarks—widely regarded as the oldest hotel in the region.
Friends, partners, community members, and distinguished guests gathered “in their dan dan” to mark this milestone, honouring the collaboration and dedication that made the preservation of the Bath Hotel possible. Built around 1800 by enslaved Africans adjacent to Nevis’ famed hot spring, the Bath Hotel stands as a testament to resilience, craftsmanship, and history.
The evening honoured the many hands and hearts behind this labour of love, including:
- Our partners at the U.S. Embassy Bridgetown and the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, whose steadfast support made this restoration possible
- The Nevis Island Administration – Ministry of Tourism, for their continued partnership
- The NHCS Board, staff, project managers, contractors, artisans, historians, and researchers who brought skill, care, and vision to every phase of the project
- Our generous sponsors, caterers, creatives, and media partners who helped make the evening truly memorable
More than stone and mortar, this restoration preserves a powerful symbol of memory and resilience, ensuring that the 200-year-old Bath Hotel continues to serve as a place for learning, reflection, and cultural engagement.
Thank you to everyone who stood with us to celebrate the past, honour the present, and look boldly toward the future of the Bath Hotel.
