ALERT – St. Kitts-Nevis Travel Advisory

As part of its ongoing commitment to safeguarding public health, the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis continues to closely monitor developments related to the outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) and to strengthen national preparedness measures to mitigate the risk of its introduction into the Federation.

The Ministry of Health advises that, based on the latest updates from the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, several countries have been identified as high-risk for Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) transmission and/or importation.

The countries currently designated as high-risk are:

Democratic Republic of the Congo
Uganda
Central African Republic
Angola
Burundi
Ethiopia
Kenya
Rwanda
South Sudan
Tanzania
Zambia
Nigeria

In light of these risks, the Ministry of National Security and the Ministry of Health strongly advise nationals of the Federation to reconsider and, where possible, defer all non-essential travel to the countries listed above.

Additionally, travellers arriving from high-risk countries may be subject to entry restrictions, including possible denial of entry into the Federation. This temporary measure is being implemented as a precaution to protect public health and reduce the risk of Ebola importation.

The Ministry of National Security, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and regional and international partners, continues to enhance border surveillance and strengthen national preparedness and response systems. These proactive measures are aimed at safeguarding the health and safety of all residents and visitors.

The public is assured that the Government remains vigilant and is taking all necessary steps to ensure a coordinated and effective response to this public health threat.
