Ambassador Francis Discusses Enhancing Scholarship Programme with Top Official of Taiwan Policy Planning

TAIPEI, TAIWAN, ROC — Talks aimed at enhancing the overall scholarship experience between St. Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan have proven fruitful.

St. Kitts and Nevis Ambassador to Taiwan, His Excellency Donya L. Francis, led the discussions during a courtesy visit with Mr Liang-Ruey Ke, Director General of the Department of Policy Planning at Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Among its responsibilities, the Department of Policy Planning manages the Taiwan MOFA Scholarship Programme.

Ambassador Francis received the department’s commitment to the continued strengthening of the programme.

He also commended Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its sustained investment in the academic and professional development of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis through the MOFA Scholarship Programme.

Many nationals are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the 2026 MOFA Scholarship recipients.

In 2025, twenty-five (25) nationals were awarded scholarships and are currently pursuing Mandarin language studies and university degrees in Taiwan.
