Athletics: Top Commentator Honoured at Parish Relays

Popular sports commentator Rudy Browne was honoured during the third annual A1 Farms Nevis Parish Relays, held on Sunday, April 26, with a surprise presentation by Chief Executive Officer of A1 Farms, Mackie Tross.

Browne received a cheque of an undisclosed amount in recognition of his longstanding contribution to sports commentary on Nevis. The presentation was met with warm applause from spectators in attendance.

A profile read by Mrs Nichola Parris highlighted Browne’s journey in the field, noting his early beginnings at the Indian Castle Racetrack and his continued presence providing lively and engaging commentary at sporting events across the island.

In his response, Browne expressed gratitude to the organisers for the unexpected honour and pledged to continue serving in his role for as long as possible. He concluded his remarks with his signature phrase, “What a rush!”

The sizeable crowd in attendance showed their appreciation, celebrating a figure widely regarded as a staple in the island’s sporting community.
