Basketball : CSS Opens Tournament With Game One Victory

The final basketball tournament of the year between Charlestown Secondary School (CSS) and Gingerland Secondary School (GSS) is now underway, structured as an exciting best-of-three series.

Game one tipped off on Tuesday, 2nd December, at the Church Ground hard court, following a brief opening ceremony declared by Director of Sports, Mr Aljay Newton.

CSS came out strong in the first quarter, appearing poised for a comfortable win as GSS struggled to match their pace. However, as the game progressed, the GSS team settled in and fought back with determination, narrowing the gap and keeping the contest competitive.

Despite their late surge, GSS fell just short, and CSS secured the opening victory with a final score of **53–47**.

Game two is scheduled for **Thursday, 4th December**, at the same venue, as both teams continue their battle for the year-end title.
