ANTIGUA — The playoff matches in the regional four-day championship continued to deliver exciting cricket action on Tuesday, with strong performances from the Guyana Harpy Eagles and Trinidad and Tobago Red Force placing both teams in competitive positions heading into the final stages of play.
At the Antigua Recreation Ground in St. John’s, the Guyana Harpy Eagles mounted an impressive response against the West Indies Academy after posting a commanding 655 for 8 declared in reply to the Academy’s first innings total of 485.
The Guyanese side produced an outstanding batting display to secure a substantial lead and place pressure firmly back on the West Indies Academy as the match entered its decisive phase.
Meanwhile, at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force continued to maintain the advantage against Barbados Pride.
After scoring 333 in their first innings and restricting Barbados to 296, the Red Force reached 209 for 7 in their second innings, extending their overall lead and strengthening their push for a place in the championship final.
Both matches have featured high-quality performances with bat and ball, as teams continue battling for supremacy in the regional playoff competition.
