Cricket : Windies Make It Four in a Row

Shamar Joseph

The West Indies continued their impressive run in the ongoing T20 World Cup, securing a fourth consecutive victory with a convincing 42-run win over Italy.

Already assured of a place in the Super 8s, the Caribbean side delivered another professional performance to maintain their unbeaten record in the group stage.

Windies Post Competitive Total

Batting first, West Indies were restricted to what appeared to be a modest total of 165 for 6 in their 20 overs. Italy’s bowlers and fielders were sharp in the field, applying pressure throughout the innings and preventing the Windies from fully cutting loose.

Captain Shai Hope once again led from the front, producing a composed and classy 75 to anchor the innings. His knock proved vital in guiding the team to a competitive total after a few tight overs in the middle phase.

Joseph’s All-Round Brilliance

Italy, eager to finish their campaign on a high with a potential upset, started positively but struggled to maintain momentum against disciplined bowling.

Fast bowler Shamar Joseph was the chief destroyer, claiming outstanding figures of 4 for 30. In a remarkable all-round effort, he also pulled off four catches in the field, playing a central role in dismantling the Italian innings.

Italy were eventually bowled out for 123, falling well short of the target.
