Excitement is expected to continue this Sunday, March 8, as the second day of the Bank of Nevis High Schools Championship unfolds at the Nevis Athletics Stadium. The highly anticipated track and field meet will bring together the island’s top young athletes for a full day of thrilling competition.
The championship, proudly sponsored by The Bank of Nevis Limited, will feature a packed schedule of finals beginning at 11:00 a.m., with athletes competing across several disciplines, including javelin, high jump, long jump, shot put, hurdles, sprints, middle-distance races, and relays.
Among the events scheduled for the day are the 400m finals, 1200m and 1500m distance races, 100m sprints, and the exciting 4x400m relay finals, which traditionally bring the championship to an electrifying close. Field events such as the javelin throw, high jump, long jump, and shot put will also showcase the strength and technical skill of the island’s talented student-athletes.
The meet is being held under the patronage of Stephanie Nisbett and Ishan Todman, both former athletes of Charlestown Secondary School.
Organisers are encouraging the public to come out in large numbers to support the athletes and enjoy what promises to be an exciting day of competition. The championship continues to serve as a major platform for nurturing young athletic talent and fostering school pride across Nevis.
