Green Giants Capture Overall Title at Nevis Academy Cross Country

Young athletes put their endurance and determination on display at the Nevis Academy Cross Country event held on Friday, 6th, with exciting performances across all age groups and two records falling on the day.

In the Kindergarten Girls race, Zuri Tyson (Blue) claimed first place, followed by Kyherra Richards (Green) in second and T’shonna Dasent (Blue) in third. The Kindergarten Boys event saw Alexis Stewart (Blue) crossing the line first, with J’Prince Powell (Green) second and Eziah Jackson (Orange) third.

Competition remained intense in the Grade 1–2 Girls, where Alijorne Francis (Green) secured first place ahead of J’Nique Cozier (Blue) and Erielle Ross. In the Grade 1–2 Boys, T-yondre Frances (Orange) led an Orange sweep, followed by Kiaro Williams (Orange) in second and Jharrel Andrews (Green) in third.

The Grade 3–4 Girls race was won by Tori Gibbs (Blue), with Da’Renae Maynard (Orange) finishing second and Jaenika Mulclaire (Green) third. In the Grade 3–4 Boys, Liam Guy (Orange) delivered a standout performance, setting a new record. He was followed by Jaydon Stephen (Green) and James Powell (Blue).

Another record fell in the Grade 5–6 Girls, where Ava Lupinacci (Blue) captured first place in record time. Zara Guy (Green) finished second, while Edith Denne (Green) placed third. In the Grade 5–6 Boys, Jordyn Williams (Green) took top honors, followed by Jaleel Williams (Blue) and T-yon Frances (Orange).

At the end of the meet, the Green Giants emerged as overall champions with 201 points, narrowly ahead of the Orange Tigers on 192 points, while the Blue Herons finished third with 180 points.

The event highlighted the depth of talent at Nevis Academy and showcased impressive athletic promise from its young runners.
