Ministry of Tourism Commends Students Participating in 2025 Learn and Earn Programme

The Ministry of Tourism has congratulated students who participated in the 2025 **Learn and Earn Programme**, which was held during the December 2025 Christmas holiday period.

Fifteen students from two secondary schools took part in the initiative, gaining valuable hands-on experience by working across various sectors within the tourism and hospitality industry. The programme provided students with first-hand exposure to career opportunities in tourism while reinforcing the importance of professionalism and service excellence.

Before their placement, the Ministry conducted training sessions to prepare the students for the workplace. Human Resources specialist Ms Laura Alcindor delivered a comprehensive session, motivating participants to perform to the best of their abilities and to uphold high standards of workplace conduct.

During the training, Ms Vanessa Webbe addressed the students on the importance of tourism to the Nevis economy and emphasised the need for excellent customer service in positioning Nevis as a destination of choice. The Learn and Earn Programme was coordinated by Ms Webbe and ably supported by Ms Azelleah Percival, Product Development Assistant at the Ministry of Tourism.
