BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS — The Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Ageing has been selected as the pilot agency for the Authentication Project, marking the launch of a series of outreach and engagement activities across government agencies.

During the session, Taiwan Technical Mission Project Manager Edward Chen, along with colleagues from the Digital Transformation Unit (DTU), introduced the applications and future service directions of the electronic identification (eID) card to participants.

In addition to showcasing sample eID cards, the team highlighted several advanced security and anti-counterfeiting features embedded in the card design. These include microtext, optically variable ink (OVI), special optical effects, and UV guilloche patterns, allowing participants to closely examine the card’s security elements.

During the interactive session, the project team also addressed questions related to information security, card issuance, and future application scenarios. Feedback and recommendations from participating agencies were collected to inform future system optimisation and project implementation.

Discussions also explored the future rollout of the eID system and its potential integration across government agencies, strengthening the digital identity authentication framework.
