Murder #3 in Nevis for 2013- Pond Hill resident succumbs to injuries nine hours after attack

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- Earlier today, Tuesday, May 14, 2013 Kishmoy Challenger of Pond Hill, Nevis was taken to the Alexandra Hospital suffering from several gunshot wounds about his body. By mid morning he was said to be in stable condition.

Information reaching this media house is that the victim took a turn for the worst this afternoon and succumbed to his injuries sometime after 5:00 p.m.

According to information received Challenger was attacked at his job site at Cliff Dwellers sometime after 8:00 a.m. this morning.

It is alleged that the assailant seemed to have waited for Challenger to arrive at work to make his attack.

Further information reveals that the assailant used the silver/grey private vehicle belonging to Challenger to make an escape.

Friends and family of the deceased are now in shock that Challenger’s attack has resulted in murder.

His death marks the third murder in Nevis for the year 2013.

Challenger was among five youths who were convicted of the 2004 murder of Hamilton resident, Eric Weekes. Weekes was murdered in the vicinity of Superfoods. At the time Weekes was 16 years old.

Later, Challenger and three others who were also convicted of the crime were released from prison following an appeals court ruling. However, the judges rejected the motion of the fifth man, who remains behind bars.
