By:Curtis Morton

From the look of things, the Nevis female cricket team is energized and enthusiastic, as they eagerly await the start of the inaugural Leewards islands female hard ball cricket tournament.

Coach of the female team, Carl Tuckett indicated that the competition is set to bowl off on May 28th at a venue to be determined.
Reports indicate that this first ever tournament in the Leewards, will feature three teams: Antigua & Barbuda; St.Kitts and Nevis.

The tournament will either be hosted in Antigua or at venues within the federation of St.Kitts and Nevis.

Among those present at practice on Tuesday 10th May at the ET Willet Park, was the experienced Senaldo Willet, who is incidentally the daughter of the famous Elquemedo Willet and who has had the distinction of having net practices and training sessions with the West Indies female Cricket team.

Also in the lineup, is the tall all rounder, Melissa Clarke, who has been rubbing shoulders with the boys, since her days in primary school.
Both ladies expressed confidence that the team will come out tops in the tournament.
New comer Martha Ducan who is an off spinner, appreciates the fact that there are some senior players who have opted to mingle with the younger players. She also believes that Nevis will indeed win the tournament.

Hard hitting batswoman, Rozel Liburd, also expressed confidence in the ability of her team. She is expecting to deliver for Nevis in a big way.

All in all, as the ladies went through their drills under the watchful eyes of Coach Carl Tuckett, who was ably assisted by Kejel Tyson, the Nevis team appears ready for the challenge.
