PUBLIC NOTICE | Music Festival Security Advisory

As we prepare for this yearโ€™s Music Festival, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) is urging residents, visitors, and businesses across the Federation to remain vigilant and take simple steps to protect themselves from fraud and criminal activity.

๐Ÿ’ต BE ALERT FOR COUNTERFEIT US CURRENCY

Before accepting US dollar banknotes:

๐Ÿ”น Feel the note โ€“ genuine US currency has a distinct texture and raised printing.
๐Ÿ”น Check security features โ€“ look for the watermark, security thread, and colour-shifting ink.
๐Ÿ”น Compare suspicious notes with one you know is genuine.
๐Ÿ”น Exercise extra caution when accepting large-denomination bills.
๐Ÿ”น Business owners: ensure all staff handling cash are familiar with these security features before the Festival begins.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ PROTECT YOURSELF FROM TICKET FRAUD

๐Ÿ”น Purchase tickets only from authorised vendors and official sales outlets.
๐Ÿ”น Avoid buying from unknown individuals, unofficial online resellers, or strangers at the gate.
๐Ÿ”น Verify electronic tickets through official event channels before attending.
๐Ÿ”น Be cautious of tickets sold at unusually low prices. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

๐Ÿชช WATCH FOR FRAUDULENT DOCUMENTS & IDENTIFICATION

Businesses are encouraged to:

๐Ÿ”น Carefully inspect identification documents presented during transactions.
๐Ÿ”น Verify credentials if there is any doubt about their authenticity.
๐Ÿ”น Report suspected forged IDs, permits, or official documents to the Police immediately.

๐Ÿ“ข IF YOU ENCOUNTER SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY:

โœ… Do not confront the individual.
โœ… Retain the item in question only if it is safe and lawful to do so.
โœ… Note any identifying details about the person involved.
โœ… Contact the nearest Police station or call 911 immediately.

๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ The RSCNPF will maintain a visible and active presence throughout the Music Festival season to ensure the safety and security of all residents and visitors.

๐ŸŽถ Enjoy the festivities responsibly, stay alert, and help us keep Music Festival 2026 safe for everyone.
