At the start of the ongoing Runako Morton/TDC Primary Schools Cricket tournament, very few persons would have given the Maude Cross Preparatory School any chance of winning too many games, much less to be leading the points table.
Interestingly, after three games, the Maude Cross Preparatory School has forced the keen cricket lovers to stand up and take note.
Leading the charge is young Rozen Daniel, one of the cricketing sons of Ron and Trecia Daniel.
He is not only a well-rounded cricketer, but has already played in the first division competition in Nevis and taken wickets too!
He is the obvious lead star, but he has skillfully guided his troops into a well-oiled unit, with every batting, bowling or fielding contribution, resulting in a winning formula.
So far, they have done the hard work by upsetting three big teams:
They beat the defending champions, Ivor Walters Primary. They beat the formidable Joycelyn Liburd Primary, and on Thursday, they whipped their neighbours, Charlestown Primary, with Daniel scoring a fine 65, before he was run out.
Nobody knows what the outcome will be, but the Maude Cross Preparatory School is certainly turning heads and some hearts, too!
