SHARMA OFF TO REPRESENT WINDIES

Young Bodgernarine Sharma is set to leave Nevis today to join up with some other under 17 youths from across the Caribbean.

Sharma has been selected to represent an under 17 West Indies team which is set to tour England shortly.

He is the only selectee from Nevis.

Recently, Sharma represented the Leeward Islands under 17 team in the WICB regional tournament and performed creditably. Other Nevisian representatives in that tournament were: Captain Marcus Dubberry; Jelani Manners and Kian Pemberton who is making quite a name for himself in the ongoing under 19 West Indies regional tournament, having captured some 15 wickets in the three day encounters and almost looking a certainty for the West indies under 19 team.

Sharma is expected to receive a rousing send off from President of the Nevis Cricket Association, Mr. Denrick Liburd who has already told him that he expects nothing less than excellent returns, because he has the ability and potential to do so.

Details as to the full makeup of the West Indies team and the tour itinerary, were not immediately available.
