Taxi Fraternity Engages Tourism Minister Marsha T. Henderson

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS – Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Marsha T. Henderson, continued her series of stakeholder consultations on Tuesday, meeting with members of the taxi fraternity to discuss key issues affecting the tourism sector and plans for the upcoming cruise season.

Minister Henderson was joined by members of the tourism leadership team as discussions centred on a review of the 2025/2026 cruise season and preparations for the 2026/2027 season.

According to the St. Kitts Tourism Authority (SKTA), the meeting provided an opportunity for meaningful dialogue on a range of topics critical to the industry’s continued development.

“The discussions focused on industry performance, the proposed Rainforest Tour Guides Policy, product enhancement opportunities, strengthening the visitor experience, and updates on preparations for homeporting,” the SKTA stated.

The consultations form part of the Ministry of Tourism’s ongoing commitment to maintaining open lines of communication with stakeholders and ensuring that the views and experiences of industry participants help shape tourism policies and initiatives.

Minister Henderson emphasized the importance of collaboration as St. Kitts seeks to build on the successes of recent years and position itself for sustained growth in an increasingly competitive tourism landscape.

The SKTA noted that the Ministry of Tourism remains committed to engaging stakeholders across the sector and working collaboratively to ensure the continued growth, resilience, and success of St. Kitts’ tourism industry.
