Two New Health Ministry Appointees Visit Joseph N. France General Hospital

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Newly appointed Director of Health Institutions, Mrs Gardenia Destang-Richardson, and Director of Institutional Nursing Services, Ms Nikisha Hazel, paid their first official visit to the Joseph N. France (JNF) General Hospital on Monday, marking the beginning of their leadership roles within the Ministry of Health.

The walkthrough was led by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Mr Curtis Martin, and included members of the Ministry’s senior leadership team. The visit provided an opportunity for hospital staff to meet and warmly welcome the two directors as they officially commence their new responsibilities.

During the visit, Mrs Destang-Richardson and Ms. Hazel engaged with healthcare professionals and staff, reaffirming their commitment to fostering collaboration, supporting frontline workers, and enhancing the delivery of quality healthcare services across the Federation.

The Ministry of Health expressed confidence in the leadership, experience, and dedication that both appointees bring to their respective positions.

“We look forward to the leadership, experience, and commitment that Mrs Destang-Richardson and Ms Hazel will bring as we continue working together to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve health outcomes for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis,” the Ministry stated.
