Two more matches were played in the ongoing Runako Morton/TDC Primary Schools Cricket Tournament on Thursday, June 25.
Charlestown Primary School defeated Maude Cross Preparatory School by 52 runs.
Batting first, Charlestown Primary School posted 127 for 5 from their 15 overs, thanks to another outstanding innings from Zakeem Bailey, who scored 73. Bailey has been in sensational form throughout the tournament, adding this half-century to his previous unbeaten scores of 118 and 98.
In reply, Maude Cross Preparatory School was bowled out for 75. Bailey capped off a superb all-round performance by claiming 5 wickets for just 7 runs, helping seal a convincing 52-run victory for Charlestown Primary.
In the other match, Joycelyn Liburd Primary School defeated St. Thomas’ Primary School by 69 runs.
Joycelyn Liburd Primary School scored 132 for 3 in their allotted overs, with Jahmarli Kelly leading the way with 52, while Tydre Clarke contributed 42. Tyquon Connor was the pick of the St. Thomas’ bowlers with 2 wickets for 21 runs.
Chasing 133 for victory, St. Thomas’ Primary School finished on 63 for 8, with Ezekiel Dickenson top-scoring with 19. Lawrence, Kelly, and Christmas each claimed two wickets to complete another dominant performance for Joycelyn Liburd Primary School.
