Nevis — Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Nevis, Denrick Liburd, has expressed strong confidence in the capacity of the island’s youth to play an active and immediate role in shaping the future of the tourism sector.
Emphasising the importance of youth engagement, he noted that young people are not merely future stakeholders but are already equipped to contribute meaningfully to national development.
“Importantly, the role of our young people is not reserved for some distant future. These participants have shown that they are now equipped, confident, and capable of contributing meaningfully. This Congress, therefore, is not just a competition; it is a platform for participation, empowerment, and real impact,” Liburd stated.
“To the Ministry of Tourism, the Bank of Nevis reaffirms that our sponsorship of this initiative is a steadfast and enduring commitment. This is not a symbolic gesture for visibility—it is a meaningful investment in youth development and in the continued advancement of tourism,” he said.
Liburd also underscored the institution’s intention to deepen its collaboration with key stakeholders to advance a shared vision for sustainable tourism development on Nevis.
“We look forward to strengthening this partnership and advancing our shared vision for the sustainable development of Nevis.”
He concluded by extending best wishes to all participating schools and students.
The Tourism Youth Congress is scheduled for May 12 at 5:00 p.m. at the Nevis Performing Arts Centre (NEPAC).
