Cricket : T’jhari Clarke Vows to Make Nevis Proud

T’Jhari Clarke appeared understandably a little nervous, as he prepared for an interview with a well-known sports journalist on Nevis, Curtis Morton.

It was hours away from a big moment in his life.

On Tuesday, he took time out to practice with the Brown Hill Cricket club but pointed out that his bags were already packed.

On Wednesday, he would travel to St. Kitts to board the long flight to the United Kingdom. His first flight outside of the Caribbean and be picked up some eight hours later by his new buddies at the Littletown club, in England.

Clarke took time out to thank Tyler Martin for initially making the contact with the agent in England; the Nevis Cricket Association and Curtis Morton for ensuring that the live stream of his blistering innings in a recent final, was viewed by the agent and Virge Browne and the Highlights Cricket club, for their support.

He also took time out to thank his number of fans—his mom; his dad, his uncles and aunts and the supportive cricketing public on Nevis.

He vows to represent Nevis as a true ambassador, on and off the field and to make everybody proud.

Clarke is not focusing on the fact that he did not get a deserved opportunity to be a part of the recent under 19 world cup but is focused on what is there for him in the future.
