Football Charlestown Primary School Edges Ivor Walters Primary School

The Charlestown Primary School ensured its semifinal spot in the ongoing Primary Schools’ Football tournament, when they edged out the Ivor Walters Primary School in a hard-fought encounter, on Monday 6th November.

The CPS lads were ultra-aggressive from the starting whistle and knocked one into the back of the net within the first five minutes of the game.

The Ivor Walters team fought tooth and nail to equalize and they had several opportunities, even right in front of the goal, but the Charlestown Primary goalie also made some excellent saves.

Final score: CPS One  Ivor Walters Nil

Meantime, three schools have ensured themselves of semifinal spots so far: Charlestown Primary; Joycelyn Liburd Primary and St. James’ Primary.

A match to be played on Wednesday between Charlestown Primary and St. Thomas’ Primary, will determine the fourth spot.

If Charlestown Primary wins that game, VOJN will get into the semis but if St. Thomas’ Primary wins, they will go through.

3 pm-Maude Cross Prep v Ivor Walters Primary

4 pm-Charlestown Primary v St. Thomas’ Primary
