Local Small Businesses Invited To Enroll In Free Virtual Training Sessions

BASSETERRE (25th February 2022): The Ministry of Tourism is inviting stakeholders who own micro, small or medium-size businesses to enroll in a free virtual training business adaptation program, which is designed to make businesses more competitive and sustainable during the recovery phase of the COVID pandemic.

The virtual training sessions are organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), which aims to develop and further enhance the business skills sets of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by introducing them to courses in digital technologies, financial planning and marketing.

Sessions will be held virtually and will be facilitated by the University of the West Indies and the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. Please note, that there will be no technical assistance, mentoring or disbursement of grants associated with the program.

Growth and creating jobs are some of the biggest advantages of tourism, as this encourages small and niche businesses to grow and hire locally. This, in turn, has a domino effect on local suppliers and demand, leading to an increased need for what they grow and sell for guests and customers.

The deadline for the receipt of applications is Sunday, February 27, 2022. MSMEs may apply to the Business Adaptation Programme via the following link https://bit.ly/35mU53C
