Nevisian track and field coach Shirvon Greene, head coach of the Monroe Mustangs Track and Field team, has been named among the top ten Black head coaches in men’s and women’s track and field.
Greene, along with nine other distinguished coaches, is being celebrated by the Black Coaches Association, which revealed the honourees in an Instagram post on Wednesday afternoon.
This recognition is a testament to Coach Greene’s hard work, commitment, and dedication to developing his athletes.
In 2026, Coach Greene led the Mustangs women’s team to the number one ranking in the Atlantic Region, with athletes achieving top rankings in six events across the region. On the men’s side, he guided the team to three new school records, further highlighting the programme’s continued excellence.
This year also marks the fifth time Coach Greene has earned Men’s and Women’s Head Coach of the Year honours, underscoring his sustained impact and leadership in collegiate track and field.
Through his achievements, Coach Greene continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of elite athletes.
