It was a ding-dong battle all afternoon, at the Nevis Athletic Stadium, as the Maude Cross Preparatory School hosted its annual sports meet.
The distinguished patrons were past student-athletes, Ashley Parris and Tijauni Carey.
The athletes competed in the 800, 1200, 60, 100, 200, 150, 300, 4X100 and 4X200 meters races.
One touching moment that certainly caught the attention of everyone present, occurred when one athlete was toppled over, as the athletes got out of the blocks for a particular race and as she cried heading past the finish line, her fellow competitors reached out and hugged her.
