In celebration of the 43rd anniversary of the Independence of St. Christopher and Nevis, the Department of Community Development presents its 2026 Unsung Hero for St. Paul’s Parish.
Rev. Othniel E. Daly of Craddock Road is a dedicated spiritual leader, former public servant, and community advocate whose life has been characterised by service to both God and community.
He currently serves as an officiating minister within the Nevis Circuit of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas (MCCA), Leeward Islands District, where he regularly leads worship services, daily devotions, and other spiritual activities that promote faith, unity, and personal growth. He also serves as Chairperson of the Nevis Circuit of the Methodist Church’s Mission and Evangelism Committee.
Beyond his pastoral duties, Reverend Daly has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to community development. He has worked closely with community groups and organisations, assisting with the planning and implementation of programmes designed to address local needs, foster positive development, and improve the quality of life for residents.
Through collaboration, dedication, and servant leadership, he has helped bring people together to achieve meaningful and lasting outcomes within the community. Reverend Daly frequently collaborates with local government entities and community stakeholders, helping to bridge the gap between church initiatives and community needs.
Before entering the ministry, Reverend Daly served as Community Development Officer for St. Paul’s Parish under the Nevis Island Administration, where he worked diligently to support and strengthen community engagement and development initiatives.
Even today, he remains readily available to serve, guide, and support others in whatever capacity he is called upon. He was also known for using his platform to recognise and honour individuals who had made outstanding contributions to their communities.
Reverend Daly became a fully accredited Local Preacher on July 2, 1989, and was later ordained as a Methodist Minister in the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas on January 16, 2020.
His unwavering commitment to faith, service, and community has left a lasting impact on many lives throughout Nevis.
For his dedication and selfless service, Reverend Othniel E. Daly is truly deserving of this honour, and we proudly congratulate him on being named the 2026 Unsung Hero for St. Paul’s Parish.
