Basseterre, St. Kitts – July 22–23, 2025
Several traffic-related cases were heard and disposed of at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday, July 22 and Tuesday, July 23, 2025. Proceedings were presided over by Her Honour Yasmine Clarke and His Honour Reynold Benjamin.
The Outcomes are as Follows:
Ian Grosvenor, of Taylors, Basseterre, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, committed on February 24, 2025. He was convicted and fined EC$850.00, payable within three months or face one month’s imprisonment.
Grenville Rogers Jr., of Sandy Point, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, committed on March 19, 2025. He was convicted and fined EC$850.00, also payable within three months or face three months’ imprisonment.
Leroy Maynard, of Basseterre, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, committed on October 26, 2024. He was convicted and cautioned.
Vidyanand Persuard, of Greenlands, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, committed on January 31, 2025. He was convicted and fined EC$900.00, payable within two months or face one month’s imprisonment.
Kellon Garnett, of Basseterre, pleaded guilty to two charges arising from an incident on October 25, 2024:
For driving without a valid and unexpired driver’s licence, he was convicted and fined EC$800.00, payable within two months or face two months’ imprisonment.
For driving without insurance, he was convicted and fined EC$800.00, payable within three months or face three months’ imprisonment.
The Magistrate Court continues to emphasise the importance of road safety and compliance with traffic laws across the Federation.
