It was a pulsating contest that swung back and forth from start to finish as the Caribbean Premier League 2025 entered its final phase on Wednesday night.
Batting first in the opening playoff, the Guyana Amazon Warriors struggled to build momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals before posting what looked like a modest 157 all out.
In reply, the Kings were in deep trouble early, collapsing to 12 for 3, then slumping further to 48 for 7 and 85 for 8, prompting Guyanese fans to begin celebrating prematurely.
But the drama was far from over. Khary Pierre, with vital support from Tymal Mills, mounted a spirited late fightback that reignited hopes for the Kings and had the local supporters on edge. The equation came down to 15 runs needed from the final over.
However, just one ball into the decisive over, Mills was caught at extra cover, sparking jubilation among the Amazon Warriors faithful. The Warriors held their nerve to seal a tense 14-run victory, booking their place in the coveted CPL 2025 Final.
