BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) is currently investigating the discovery of human remains in the Basseterre National Valley area.
The remains were found on the afternoon of May 6, 2026, between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., in a section of burnt field in the vicinity. The discovery was made by members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services while carrying out their duties.
Preliminary assessments suggest that the remains are those of an adult male. However, no form of identification was recovered at the scene, and the remains have not yet been formally identified.
The Crime Scene Unit of the RSCNPF processed the area, and the remains were subsequently taken into police custody for further examination.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing. Authorities are appealing to anyone with information that may assist in identifying the deceased to contact the nearest police station or provide anonymous tips via the Crime Stoppers hotline at 707.
