The ILCA 4 youth worlds at Aarhus had 3 more days of racing to go. Abhijith Srinivasan has had 2 days of racing completed so far on the 4th and 5th of August which has placed him at 225th position. With wind at 25 plus knots and guts of 35 plus on day 3, the races were cancelled by the end of the day.
With 300 sailors, the boys’ group is divided into 4 fleets color coded as yellow, blue, red and green. The girls with 150 sailors are divided into yellow and blue fleets. These 6 fleets are further grouped as Alpha and Bravo who sail simultaneously in 2 different areas scheduled 2 back-to-back races per day. The areas of racing and color codes for fleets change every day for qualifiers with a minimum of 4 races before the final series.
Abhijith has been consistent in his performance competing against the unexpected weather and current. Hoping the races resume tomorrow with fair winds to transition into finals.
