BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND – St. Kitts and Nevis’ personalities will be featured at the Fifth St. Kitts and Nevis Heritage Day in Birmingham, England later this month.
According to the organisers, the stellar line-up includes Itebulous, former lead singer of the Ultrasonics from Nevis; St. Kitts’ rising singing sensation Dejour; and acclaimed reggae artiste Virgil Hodge. The celebration is hosted by the ever-popular Sweet Sister Sensia of Freedom 106.5 FM.
Heritage Day is said to be one of the United Kingdom’s biggest St. Kitts & Nevis celebrations, with traditional Caribbean food and live reggae.
The all-day St. Kitts & Nevis Heritage Day takes over Moseley Rugby Club with street food by St. Kitts-born Chef Esmie Stewart on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at just £15 for a ticket.
“An all-day cultural celebration of St. Kitts & Nevis is happening this month. In honour of the former British colony and smallest sovereign state in the Western Hemisphere, St. Kitts & Nevis,” said the Heritage Day organisers.
Deeply rooted in Birmingham’s long-established St. Kitts and Nevis diaspora, the event brings together the UK’s Kittitian and Nevisian community—rich in culture, traditions, and legacy (including food and music) — from 12 pm to 8 pm, with more than 1,500 attendees from across the country expected.
The organisers expect an exciting programme of live entertainment, with performers travelling directly from the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Itebulous is a former lead singer of the Nevis band Ultrasonics.
Dejour (Dejour Alexander) is a prominent Reggae, Dancehall, and R&B singer-songwriter known for his smooth vocal range, versatile music composition, and distinct romantic and conscious lyrical themes, and is regarded as one of the major rising stars on the Caribbean music scene.
Virgil Hodge is a prominent reggae and Caribbean pop musical artist who has successfully transitioned into a musical career after achieving global recognition as an Olympic sprinter who represented St. Kitts and Nevis on the international scene.
Sweet Sister Sensis is one of the most prominent and popular radio personalities, female DJ’s, and entertainers in St. Kitts and Nevis and the wider Caribbean. She has built a massive following through her vibrant media presence, music promotion, and community work.
The Birmingham celebration is also hosted by renowned DJs KMD, Bajan Touch, Jus-Us, and Godfather, who will keep the energy high with an eclectic mix of Caribbean music. Plus, the St. Kitts Tourism Authority will showcase the destination’s latest travel offerings.
Birmingham chef Esmie Stewart, who was born in St. Kitts and moved to the UK in her 20s, will also make a welcome return with her Esmie’s Caribbean Fusion food truck, serving two menus across the day: traditional Kittitian favourites including goat water and cook-up, alongside modern Caribbean Street food.
“Heritage Day provides a wonderful opportunity to engage directly with our diaspora community,” said Chelcie Lewis, St. Kitts Tourism Authority. “It is where conversations about home naturally happen, whether it’s discovering what’s new in St. Kitts, planning a return visit, or introducing the next generation to the island for the very first time.
“We are excited to share the many experiences that await visitors, while highlighting the benefits of our “We Limin” Diaspora Programme, which was created specifically to strengthen the connection between our nationals abroad and St. Kitts and Nevis through meaningful travel opportunities and exclusive benefits.”
Tickets for Heritage Day are just £15 and are on sale, while children’s tickets (ages 5 to 15) are £5 on entry, with a £1 donation for under-fives, and on-site parking is available at £5. Adults arriving on the day without a ticket will pay £20 at the door, so booking ahead is well worth it.
The St. Kitts & Nevis Heritage Day will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club, Yardley Wood Road, Birmingham, B13 0HN.
