Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis — September 29, 2026 — St. Paul’s Primary School has emerged as the national champion of the Five for Fun National Cricket Festival following an exciting finals competition held on Saturday, September 26, at the Brown Hill Playing Field in Nevis.
The national finals brought together eight primary schools from across St. Kitts and Nevis, with four schools representing each island in a celebration of young cricketing talent, sportsmanship and friendly competition.

Sandy Point Primary School
Violet Petty Primary School
St. Paul’s Primary School
Nevis
Charlestown Primary School
Ivor Walters Primary School
Joycelyn Liburd Primary School
Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School
After progressing through the competition, St. Paul’s Primary secured the championship title, while Charlestown Primary School finished as runner-up, capping an engaging day of cricket that showcased the enthusiasm and promise of the Federation’s young players.
Individual and Team Awards
The festival also recognized outstanding performances and the values that make the Five for Fun programme an important part of grassroots cricket development.
Zakheem Bailey earned two major honours, receiving the Best Batsman award and being named Most Valuable Player. Kaylonace Woods was recognized as Best Fielder, while the Best Bowler award acknowledged excellence with the ball. Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School received the Spirit of the Game award for its display of sportsmanship and team spirit.

The Five for Fun National Festival provides young players with an opportunity to apply their cricketing skills in a competitive but enjoyable environment. Beyond the results, the initiative encourages teamwork, discipline, confidence and respect while helping to strengthen the foundation of cricket throughout St. Kitts and Nevis.
The participation of schools from both islands also reinforces the value of sport in bringing communities together and creating opportunities for young people to learn, develop and build lasting friendships.
The St. Kitts Cricket Association congratulates St. Paul’s Primary School on its championship victory and commends Charlestown Primary School and all participating schools for their efforts throughout the festival.
