Charlestown, Nevis — The Queen City Nevis Lions Club joined the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society (NHCS), along with other non-governmental organizations and community groups, in supporting Coastal Cleanup 2026 on Saturday, September 26.
As part of the island-wide environmental initiative, the Queen City Nevis Lions Club selected Paradise Beach as its designated cleanup site, where members gathered early in the morning, ready to contribute to the preservation and beautification of Nevis’ coastline.
Through their collective effort, club members worked together to remove litter and help maintain the cleanliness of the coastal environment. Their participation reflected the spirit of volunteerism and community collaboration that underpins the Lions Club’s commitment to service.
Coastal cleanups play an important role in addressing marine litter and protecting coastal environments. By removing waste from shorelines, these initiatives help promote greater environmental awareness and encourage communities to take responsibility for safeguarding their natural resources.
The Queen City Nevis Lions Club expressed pride in participating in the initiative and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting activities that contribute to a cleaner, healthier and more beautiful Nevis. The club also acknowledged the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society for its leadership in organizing the cleanup and commended the participating organizations and volunteers for their collective contribution.
